Arundel is a historic market town in southern England. It’s not a large town by any means, and totally walkable (my favorite!) It’s a popular place to visit, partly because of Arundel Castle – which was one of my favorite things to see while I was there!
Arundel is quite easy to reach, too – it’s about 2 hours south of London, both by train and by car. If you’re coming by train, you simply get off at Arundel Station! So easy.
Sooooo, like, what are you waiting for?? Here are some fun things to do in Arundel, England.
CHECK OUT THE CASTLE, DUH

VISIT THE MUSEUM

INDULGE IN AFTERNOON TEA

Like blueberry scones and clotted cream and tea with a little milk and sugar does something good for my soul.

GO TO SOME SHOPS

The Pallant of Arundel (pictured above) had delicious baked goods and freshly baked bread and the like. I got a pasty and it did not disappoint! They also have lots of fun regional specialty products you can purchase, too.
WALK UP THE HILL IN TOWN
If you’re feeling up for a little jaunt, you can walk up the hill for a pretty view!
HIT UP THE LOCAL BREWERY

BLACKFRIARS DOMINICAN PRIORY RUINS

This is a cool ruin right outside the castle. Originally built as a Friary, the buildings ended up being used for other reasons after 1583. There are plaques with information about the ruins that you can read up on, too.
I hope you enjoy your visit to Arundel! It’s such a cute little town and I had a great day wandering around.
I live in England and I’ve never heard of this place! It looks very beautiful and full of activities though! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Haha I love putting the spotlight on lesser known destinations! I’m glad you enjoyed the post, thanks for reading 🙂
I took my kids to a tea here in the US and they thought it was so fancy and fun. It’d be even better to do so in England, and if it’s in between seeing castles… I don’t know if it gets better than that! Terrific post on things to do in Arundel, England.
Yes I love afternoon tea! It does taste a little better in England, though, I must say 😉 I love the clotted cream that they use (don’t think they use that in the states?) Thanks for reading!
I absolutely love Arundel. It’s been a few years since I’ve been and reading this has made me realise I need to get back there! Definitely have to have afternoon tea too – always a great suggestion!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it – such a cute little town! And yes afternoon tea is always a good idea in my book 😉
I’m English and I’d never heard of this place haha, shame on me :’) but it looks and sounds so cute! A bookshop and a brewery? Yes please!
You’re the second person to say that! But yes, I love Arundel – it’s adorable! 🙂
I’ve never been to Arundel! In fact living in the U.S.A., California to be exact. I will put this on my list for my next soon- to-be visit! LOVE the article and keep posting…candidly :)!
Yes, you definitely should – it’s a beautiful town!
