Seattle for New Years’

View of the Space Needle and downtown from Kerry Park in Seattle
[Kerry Park in Seattle]
Okay, so – Seattle for New Years’ might not be like, revolutionary or anything, but it was such a good choice!

We had such a great time, and the fireworks at the Space Needle were AMAZING. Like super elegant. And classy AF. Not like those tacky ass firework shows you normally see. The colors were so on point and it was just so PRETTY. See a video here.

We stayed at The Mediterranean, and were supposed to watch fireworks from the roof, but it was too crowded so we just wandered onto the street instead and (IMO) got an even better view!

Oregon is More Than Just Portland

Clearwater Falls on the waterfall highway in Oregon
[Clearwater Falls on the “Waterfall Highway” was so damn pretty]
But Portland is pretty freaking cool, too.

Oregon felt like the American version of Ireland. I haven’t been to Washington yet (jk I just got back from Seattle), but I’m guessing it’s Oregon on steroids to the max.

"Welcome to Oregon" sign coming in from the California border

OKAY SO. OREGON.

I’ve been wanting to visit the good ol’ (rainy) PNW for freaking ever. I love green things and I think I have the opposite of the typical SAD (seasonal affectiveness disorder) in the sense that I feel sad if there isn’t enough rainy/cloudy days during the fall and winter.

Don’t get me wrong, I dig the sun, but my favorite weather is grey, cloudy days. Everything just seems more magical and epic and I feel so inspired to create and be creative. Anyone else feel the same??? Or am I alone in my love for all things NOT sunny?

A Fall-Venture to Apple Hill

Fall is the best time to visit Apple Hill in Placerville - you can see the fall colors at Delfino Farms!
[Delfino Farms’ selection of mini pumpkins, gourds, and random green lumps that I have no clue what the hell they actually are – a must visit at Apple Hill]

Okay so I wanted to go to Apple Hill so badly once I found out about it. I love hills. And apples. So clearly it was made for me.

But let me tell you – it’s much more than that. Although there are many apples and hills involved. And apples in so many forms – (hard) cider, beer, strudel, pie, freshly picked, it goes on and on.

We couldn’t actually do any apple picking the first time we were there (all the apples are gone by like September, news to me), although we did go rogue and pick some off the ground on the side of the road. There were a ton of them and they looked like they were going bad! So I was doing them a favor! Otherwise they’d attract deer and other unwanted pests and the like…

The second time, however – I made SURE we would get to pick them apples. All of them. And you bet we did.

California Bucket List: All the Places I Want to See in 2018

Car driving down a road with mountains in the background in Arizona - This list is a California travel bucket list
[Driving on a random road in Arizona]

Okay so these are things I’ll most likely cross off in the next year (so they’re basically ALL in California).

Mainly because making a legit bucket list makes me cry because I want to go to places like Iceland and Kyrgyzstan and it’s not likely gonna happen right now at this very exact moment because of that whole 9-5 life. So here’s some California bucket list (in the form of weekend trips) inspiration!
